A quote from the essay:
We at the Rising Waters Confab may be focused on the challenges inherent in addressing rising sea waters – a very real problem for a number of countries around the world as well as Florida itself. But when we see international farmers commit suicide because of the demands of industrial agriculture and when we know that the climactic permutations of rising oceans will increase the challenges faced in feeding the world, this problem takes on an a global perspective. The political, environmental and theological questions of a rising ocean that must be answered are numerous and significant; how we address them will have deep meaning for the entire world.
This morning’s table is set. Shall we partake with grace and meaning, and begin to change the world?
